Frequently asked questions
You can lose your permanent residence, and when you renew your immigration card, they will verify the length of your absence from the country, and can object to the renewal. In this case, it's a good idea to submit a note to immigration explaining the reason for your absence, along with some form of proof, such as a document.
Renewal can be made up to 90 days before expiration, but not before that time.
Three years after obtaining permanent residency, you can apply for a letter of naturalization. Art. 148 CNP.
